Theoretical Study on Control of Quantum Coherence in Quantum Many-Body Systems



We mainly studies quantum effects in semiconductor mesoscopic systems. In particular, in such systems, we are interested in non-equilibrium quantum transport related to quantum many-body and quantum interference effects. The definition of mesoscopic systems is that its size is shorter than the quantum phase coherence length of electrons. Therefore, in such systems, the wave nature of electrons appears remarkably. Recent nano-fabrication and low-temperature measuring techniques using semiconductors have enabled us to control the various parameters artificially and observe the various coherent effects of electrons such as the Aharonov-Bohm and Kondo effects. Using such artificial quantum systems, we understand fundamental principles of quantum mechanics more deeply and aim at predicting new physical phenomena theoretically.
