President noritsugu A Message from Toshiro NORITSUGU, College President

National Institute of Technology, Japan (NIT)
The National Institute of Technology, Japan or NIT consists of 51 colleges of technology across the country. Since the foundation of its first 12 colleges in 1962, NIT has been providing consistent 5-year technological education for junior high school graduates, aiming at fostering practical and creative engineers. To achieve this objective, NITfs education curriculum includes extensive experiments in laboratories and a wide range of practice in factories, in addition to ordinary lectures in the class room. The five decades of history has well proved that NIT graduates are highly capable, thus they are greatly sought after by various sectors of the society starting with the industrial arena.

National Institute of Technology, Tsuyama College
As one of the National Institute of Technology, Tsuyama College or NIT,Tsuyama College, was founded in 1963 and has turned out as many as 6,700 graduates during the course of its 50 years of history.

Education at NIT,Tsuyama College
We, at NIT,Tsuyama College, have following four departments, each with an enrollment of 40 students: (1) Mechanical Engineering, (2) Electrical and Electronic Engineering, (3) Electronics and Control Engineering, and (4) Computer and Information Engineering. Moreover, we have the following two 2-year advanced engineering courses, each with an enrollment of 8 students: (1) Advanced Mechanical and Control System Engineering Course, and (2) Advanced Electronic and Information System Engineering Course.
To achieve our objective to foster practically effective engineers and researchers with a broad and international perspective, our curriculum includes internship programs at various companies in Japan as well as abroad. Students from East and Southeast Asia also help nurture the capability of intercultural understanding and communication. As a total evaluation of our education system, the Japan Accreditation Board for Engineering Education or JABEE has accredited our college, meaning that our engineering education program lives up to international standards.
Unlike those who head for university via high school, you can enjoy the school life at our school without getting involved in exhaustive university entrance examinations. You can concentrate on the study of engineering from the basic to the advanced level of the specialty you have chosen, so that at the time of graduation you will have acquired the knowledge on the same level you can get at the engineering department of the university.

Courses after Graduation
When you graduate from our school, you have a wide selection of directions to choose from in both studying further and seeking jobs:
If you have a desire to study further, you have two options: You can study in the 2-year advanced engineering course at NIT,Tsuyama College or other colleges of technology, where you can take bachelorfs degree, or you can be admitted to other universities if you have passed the admission test. If you elect the 2-year advanced engineering course, when you have finished you have the option to study at graduate school if you are admitted.
When it comes to getting a job right after graduation, it will be rather easy. Reflecting the high demand for Kosen graduates, we have always been inundated with job offers regardless of economic climates; the job offer-to-job application ratio has never been below 15 for our NIT,Tsuyama College graduates, and even 20 for our 2-year advanced engineering course graduates.

Other Important Roles of NIT,Tsuyama College
Besides engineering education, as the only institute of higher education and research in the engineering field in the northern region of Okayama prefecture, we have also been promoting the collaboration with businesses and municipal governments in the area. We will continue to serve as an academic base open to the local community. In addition, we are expanding our activities to the collaboration with companies and universities in the southern part of Okayama prefecture and even over all the world.

Tsuyama City, ga little Kyotoh
Tsuyama city, where our college is located, is about 60 km to the north of Okayama city. Tsuyama is rich in history and has been called ga little Kyoto in western Japan,h having an atmosphere reminiscent of Japanfs ancient capital of Kyoto. Tsuyama has produced large numbers of renowned scholars of Western studies and intellectuals since the Edo period (1603 to 1868).

Our Determination
Encouraged by all the kind supporters of our education and research activities, starting with people, firms, municipal governments in and around Tsuyama in addition to our alumni, all of the faculty and staff members at NIT,Tsuyama College are determined to not only pass down the cultural and traditional heritage of Tsuyama to the next generation but also contribute to the further development of science and technology.
Before concluding my greeting, I would like to say that I expect more and more junior high school graduates, full of dreams and challenging spirits, to apply for our NIT,Tsuyama College. And I also expect that our partners, supporters as well as local community residents make the best use of human resources and facilities at NIT,Tsuyama College for their specific needs.
We look forward to receiving your continuous support as ever.
